Omega-3s and Omega-3 Vida
Omega-3 fatty acids are unsaturated fatty acids, essential to the human body. This means that they can't be produced by the body itself. They are mainly found in algae, plants, and fish. Algae and plants contain omega-3s largely in the form of α-linolenic acid; in fatty fish and krill they are mostly in the form of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). An adult can partially convert α linolenic acid into EPA and DHA, but only in very small amounts, therefore making omega-3 fatty acids in the form of krill or fish oil the most ideal source for those seeking supplementation.
Fish oil fatty acids are naturally found in triglyceride form. To concentrate fish oil for supplementation, the triple structures must be broken down and the undesirable fatty acids removed. However, for the body to properly absorb the omega-3s and their beneficial components, it must then be reassembled back to its original triglyceride state. This process is time-consuming and cost-intensive, so many products on the market today simply skip it and sell the semi-synthetic Ethyl Esther (EE) form of fish oil. That type of product is cheaper for the consumer, and still technically fish oil, but is virtually worthless because the bioavailability of omenga-3s is so low. kingnature does not skip this step; Omega-3 Vida contains fish oil that is restructured back to its natural triglyceride form and has a much higher absorption rate than its EE counterparts, making it the obvious choice for those wanting to increase omega-3 fatty acid intake.
Omega-3 Vida is virtually tasteless; purified of heavy metals; free of dioxins; and enriched with astaxanthin (a keto-carotenoid antioxidant).
The fish oil in this product comes from sustainable fishing stock in Norway and has a remarkably high content of bioavailable omega-3 fatty acids.
Please note – you should not take more than 5 g DHA and EPA per day!
